Lampung Selatan, Indonesia – A newborn baby, delivered by a 20-year-old university student identified by her initials SL, was reportedly discarded under the Tegineneng Bridge in Lampung Selatan, Indonesia. The distressing details were revealed by Kedaton Police Chief AKP Budi Harto, who confirmed the detention of SL’s 21-year-old boyfriend, identified as B.

“Her male companion, suspected to be her boyfriend, has been secured at the Kedaton Police Station,” AKP Harto stated.

Further interrogation of the boyfriend, B, revealed that the infant was indeed disposed of in the Tegineneng area of Lampung Selatan. Shockingly, AKP Harto added that the baby was still alive at the time it was discarded.

“Regarding the delivered baby, based on the boyfriend’s confession, it was thrown towards Tegineneng, at the Tegineneng Bridge,” he explained. “The boyfriend, who is also her partner, admitted that the baby was still alive because he felt its heartbeat when carrying it.”

According to B’s confession, SL chose to deliver the baby alone in her dormitory room because her pregnancy was kept secret from everyone, including their respective parents. “They chose to deliver by themselves because no one knew, including their parents, as they were ashamed and thus did not choose to deliver in a hospital. The examination also confirmed the pregnancy was full-term, at nine months,” AKP Harto added.

B is currently being held at the Kedaton Police Station for further investigation and development of the case.
